Epic 4×4 Adventures has a 48-Hour Cancellation Policy*.

We understand that sometimes plans change, and we are committed to providing our customers with the flexibility they need. Our 48-hour cancellation policy allows you to cancel or reschedule your tour booking with ease.

Cancellations or rescheduling requests made 48 hours or more before the scheduled tour departure time will receive a full refund. We will accept your cancellation or rescheduling request any way you can get it to us. Send us an email. You can even reply to our confirmation email. Give us a call. If you don’t get us or it is after hours, leave a voicemail. We will reply to your email or voicemail so you can be confident your cancellation or schedule change was received and processed.

Self-service reservation changes can be made by clicking the link on your confirmation email. If you need to make a change to your reservation outside our 48-hour cancellation period, you will find a link to make these changes right on your confirmation email. Of course, you can always call us to make any necessary changes as well.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled tour departure time will not be eligible for a refund. However, we will do our best to accommodate you for an alternative tour time (subject to availability).

In the event that we need to cancel your tour due to unforeseen circumstances — such as extreme weather conditions, safety concerns or insufficient reservation numbers — you will be notified as soon as possible and offered the option to reschedule the tour or receive a full refund.

Please note that no-shows or cancellations made after the scheduled tour departure time will not be eligible for a refund or rescheduling.

Requests for rescheduling your reservation will be treated as a cancellation and new booking and subject to stated cancellation timelines. Requests to remove vehicles or downgrade from a 4-capacity vehicle to a 2-capacity vehicle will be treated as a cancellation and new booking and subject to cancellation timelines.

The 48-hour cancellation policy does not apply to private tours or group tours. Terms will be discussed when we put your itinerary together for you.

Optional Travel Protection may be available for your tour choice. Travel Protection is not insurance, but it does offer the most flexibility in protecting your purchase in the event of unexpected changes to your plans. Travel Protection offers Cancel/Change For Any Reason (CFAR) reassurance with just 1-hour notice versus our standard cancellation policy of 48 hours. When selected, you may cancel your reservation for any reason, and receive a full refund, less Travel Protection fees, up to 1 hour before your tour departure time. Travel protection also includes changes to your reservation. When you choose Travel Protection, changes to your reservation including date, time, or number of vehicles or participants will be honored up to 1 hour before your tour departure time. These requests are subject to availability, however.

When available, Travel Protection will be offered for additional purchase when you finalize your reservation. Travel Protection is non-refundable.

Logistical FAQs

All listed tour times are the actual start times. We begin vehicle orientation and safety briefing on time out of respect for other guests. We can’t begin tours until all required business is complete, including check-ins, participant agreements, and gear fittings. We complete all of this up-front to maximize time on the road.

Your email confirmation will have important information about the time you should arrive. Please read it carefully. For most tours, we ask that guests arrive 15 minutes prior to the listed start time. If you are not present to complete all required tasks before orientation, you may forfeit your spot on the tour. In these cases, we do not offer refunds.

Think of our tours like catching a flight. You wouldn’t arrive at the airport at departure time; you’d show up with plenty of time to complete all pre-boarding tasks. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact us.

For most of our UTV You-Drive tours, we leave directly from our primary location at 1041 S. Main Street. You must arrive 15 minutes before your tour start time to complete any outstanding business tasks and select your gear.

We pull your UTV to the trailhead for our You-Drive Tours, The Works, Gemini Bridges, and Poison Spider. Your email confirmation will include important information for picking up gear and where to meet.

For the Moab Mega Buggy Ride-Along Tours, we will include links for navigating the trailhead in your confirmation email. These directions allow you to enjoy the truly gorgeous drive to the starting point in the comfort of your own vehicle. It also allows you to leave the trailhead directly without needing to return to our office.

Moab Wanderer Tours depart from our location at 1041 S. Main Street. Please arrive 30 minutes in advance for check-in and to review important safety information so we can depart on time.

We speed up the check-in process by sending links to our Participant Agreements in each confirmation email. Completing these forms before you arrive will allow everybody to get on the road sooner. You don’t need to print the agreement out — once signed online, all forms are automatically returned electronically.

We love the rain because it actually makes Moab more beautiful! We do operate rain or shine (and even do a little waterfall chasing whenever the opportunity presents itself).

In cases of extreme weather, however, we will cancel and offer you the choice of rescheduling or receiving a refund.

We recommend that you book a tour with us relatively early on in your Moab stay. This makes it easier to reschedule if there is a rain-out. As an added bonus, our local guides have great tips for things to do in Moab. Hanging out with us sooner rather than later can only make your trip to Moab that much better!

We welcome all fitness levels on our tours! You will be riding in or driving a well-equipped vehicle. No walking is required. There are a few places along our trails where the best views are located a short walk away from the vehicles. While these short excursions are optional, you might miss out on some pretty amazing pictures!
Our operating season generally runs from the first part of March to Thanksgiving weekend. Our last day of operation for 2023 was November 26. Our tours reopened on March 1, 2024. Weather and other factors may allow us to start our season early or force us to close-up-shop earlier than expected. Please review our calendar for the most up-to-date operating hours.
Our amazing Kawasaki KRX 1000 fleet has room for 2 to 4 passengers per vehicle. Our Moab Mega Buggy has space for up to 5 guests, and the Moab Wanderer seats up to 14 guests.
We recommend bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, a camera, a jacket, and closed-toe shoes. You may also wish to dress in layers as the temperature can fluctuate. Finally, make sure you eat a good meal before joining us! We definitely make good on our promise of adventure, so be ready to go!
Epic 4×4 Adventures does not offer a shuttle service. The city of Moab, however, does offer a free transit service. Moab Area Transit (MAT) is a new, fare-free transit service. Service runs on a schedule with predetermined routes and stops. There are also options for on-demand, door-to-door service as well. Download the MAT app on your phone to schedule rides or call them at 833-628-3733. To learn more, please visit Moab City’s website.

Tour FAQs

Our Moab Mega Buggy Vehicle is custom-designed to handle different types of terrain specific to Moab. It is not a converted Jeep, Hummer, or SUV. We built the Moab Mega Buggy from the ground up to provide a safe and exciting 4×4 adventure. No post-manufacturing modifications necessary!

You can absolutely drive our UTVs! That’s what they’re there for! Our guide is around to ensure you don’t get lost on the trail and help you tackle terrain obstacles like a pro. You must be a licensed driver (16 and 17 year old drivers require a parent or guardian in the front passenger seat while operating our UTVs).

Regardless of how good a driver you are, we don’t allow guests to drive the Moab Mega Buggy or Moab Wanderer. Don’t worry — our guides will give you such a great tour that you won’t even miss driving!

Yes, all licensed drivers 16+ may take turns driving throughout the tour. We make stops at several points of interest along the way, which provides plenty of opportunity for switching drivers. Driver changes do occur at your guide’s discretion. Your guide will let you know when it’s safe and appropriate to switch drivers while on the trail.
All of our tours are conducted in English. For safety, all drivers on our You-Drive UTV Tours must be able to hear and understand English clearly enough to receive and follow instructions from our guide. All drivers must also be able to speak English clearly enough to communicate with our guide that they understand and will follow instructions or alert our guide if they require assistance or have concerns during the ride. Whether or not a guest is able to communicate effectively enough to participate will be at the discretion of our guide. If we determine that your safety is at risk due to any communication concerns, we will do our best to offer an alternative to driving. These cases will not be grounds for a refund, however. If you are unsure whether or not you meet this requirement, please contact us before you make your reservation.

Yes! We are happy to provide a tour for you in your personal UTV, but this would be restricted to a private experience. Your UTV must be properly equipped and set up for your trail choice and terrain. Please call us to discuss.

Pricing starts at $250 + $99/hour for a single UTV and $50/hour for each additional UTV in your group.

Yes. If you would like to join our tours but do not wish to drive a UTV, you may be able to ride with our guide on a group UTV adventure (depending on availability). You can also join us for our popular K4 Experience as well as our Moab Mega Buggy or Moab Wanderer ride-along adventures. Give us a call and let us know what you’d like to do, and we will do our best to find a solution for you: (435) 220-2653.
If you have a trail in mind that is not listed in our trail portfolio, please contact us for a private tour. We’d love to help you plan your own epic adventure!

Other FAQs

Absolutely. We are proud to bring you Moab’s safest side-by-side fleet. Epic 4×4 Adventures’ custom performance roll cages exceed most manufacturers’ bolt-together safety standards. We equip vehicles with front and rear bumpers as well as rock rails to protect soft plastic body panels. You will have a left and right side mirror with an upgraded center rearview mirror that offers a wide radius view. We equip each UTV with OEM safety harnesses. Lastly, our tour fleet is impeccably maintained and exclusively used for guided tours. That means that all of our vehicles have never been out of our sight. While we tackle the tough trails, we do so with skill that we pass along to our guests. You can be sure that your vehicle has not been “driven like a rental” at any time throughout its life.

As for our Moab Mega Buggy, we custom-built this vehicle to meet the highest standards of safety. Our Mega Buggy features 4-point safety harnesses, racing seats, and 2” heavy wall DOM tubing. In addition, while most touring vehicles have some sort of sport bar or cage bolted onto a finished vehicle, our Mega Buggy is one giant roll-cage chassis. This allows it to handle even the most intense terrain in the safest possible manner.

Our newest touring giant is the Moab Wanderer. This vehicle fits right into Moab’s safest fleet. Our 2” heavy duty tube-built passenger cabin is a full-safety cage that is properly engineered and triangulated. Our steel-frame suspension seats are equipped with safety harnesses rather than lap belts. Deep footwells keep your feet solidly planted.

Yes, all riders must sign a Participant Agreement. Riders younger than 18 years of age must have it signed by a parent or guardian. Riders younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Epic 4×4 Adventures’ guides work hard to keep you safe and ensure great guest experiences. They strive to help you create memories and stories that you’ll share for years to come. Adding gratuity lets our guides know they did a good job and that you had a great time. Tipping is not mandatory, and we never add mandatory gratuity to our scheduled tours. Our guides, however, do try their best to earn any additional tips from guests. It’s a sign of a job well done.
Our Vehicle Damage Waiver limits your out-of-pocket costs to a deductible of $2,500 plus tax for any sustained damages. Terms and conditions apply. Call us with questions or see our Driver Agreement for more information.

When you sign our driver agreement for our UTV/You Drive Tours, you become a covered driver under Epic 4×4 Adventures’ liability insurance (subject to all policy terms and conditions). This coverage has a $5,000 deductible per accident. If you are involved in an accident with any other person, vehicle or property, you agree to pay us $5,000 at the time of the accident regardless of fault. If you are found not to be at fault, this deductible will be refunded.

Everyone’s insurance needs are different, and we make no representation that our liability limits are adequate for you. We are not insurance brokers, agents, or providers. If you have questions about coverages, we suggest you contact your insurance agent/broker.

We do not have a specific age requirement for children. However, all children participants must weigh at least 30 pounds and be able to support a DOT off-road style helmet for our UTV tours and Moab Mega Buggy. Our safety harnesses are remarkably safe for both youth and adults, but they are not designed for child car seats or standard vehicle booster seats. For smaller children and children under 8, we have a special booster seat designed for the harnesses in our UTVs and Moab Mega Buggy. Minor children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The Moab Wanderer is suitable for all ages. Children under 30 pounds will be required to ride inside the vehicle cab. Parents must bring their own child safety seats.

Older adults will also have a great time on our tours. In fact, one of our staff members even brought along her 92-year-old grandmother. She had a blast!

Drivers for our You-Drive UTV Tours must be licensed and 18 or older to operate our vehicles. Drivers who are 16 or 17 and licensed may operate our vehicles with parent consent and a parent in the vehicle at all times.* A learner’s permit does not meet this requirement.

*Restrictions apply and a Minor Driver Authorization Form is required. Please call or see our Driver Agreement for more information.

Unfortunately, no. We love our pets too, but 4X4 tours are just not the place for them. We do not have seats or harnesses to keep them safe.
